I stood in the shower, washing raspberry cream out of my hair. It got there after a funny accident.
A new family moved to town, and they had a girl my age named Julia. We met at school. My frog jumped out of my backpack. I think we became friends because she thought my clumsiness was funny.
Julia invited me to visit her mom’s bakery. I couldn’t wait to have fun. Little did I know, I was about to have another messy accident.
“Hiya, Bob! Come in!” Julia said, gesturing me inside.
My mouth went into drool-overdrive. On every shelf I saw, there were cakes, cookies, all kind of pastries!
“Bob?” Julia asked, tapping my shoulder. “Bob, you’re drooling! Are you interested in trying some of my desserts?”
I couldn’t talk, so I just smiled and nodded my head.
Julia left the room for a few minutes and came back with two delectable-looking cakes.
I ran to help her carry the cakes. Apparently, the floors were slippery, because I couldn’t stop and crashed right into her. Before we knew it, we were covered in whipped cream and chocolate chips. Julia laughed so hard it practically cleaned her face. After a little bit, I laughed too. I’m glad she didn’t mind getting dirty, because Mrs. Canton, Julia’s mom, didn’t seem to like the mess.
